Building on Tom and British pianist Richard Fairhurst’s duo of several years, this project adds Finnish percussionist supreme Markku Ounaskari, proposing a music of exquisite beauty, space and spirit, performed by a trio united by friendship and an unwavering commitment to clarity and the divine. A programme of chamber music composed by Tom, drawing on the tradition of jazz musicians including John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler, but also composers such as Morton Feldman and György Ligeti, various ‘pre-World Music’ traditional musics and beyond.
